How do I log in to CommandTalk?

Open the sign-in page, enter your account email address and password, then continue to your radio or dispatch area. Owners and users can both sign in on the same website.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Open the password reset page, enter the email address on the account, and submit the form. A secure reset link will be sent by email. Open that link and set a new password.

A new user has been added. How do they get access?

When an owner adds a user, CommandTalk sends that person a setup email. The user opens the email link, sets a password, and then signs in with their own email address.

Handsets

Handsets

How do I link a handset to a user?

Open the dispatch console, go to the handset pairing area, choose the radio user, and enter the six-digit code currently shown on the handset. Once approved, the handset will open the radio screen automatically.

Where do I find the handset commissioning code?

On the handset, open the linking screen. The six-digit code shown there is the code you enter in the dispatch console. If a handset is already linked, clear the link first if you need to commission it again.

How do I upload the APK to a handset?

Download the APK from the dispatch console, connect the handset by USB, choose File transfer on the device, copy the APK onto handset storage, then open the APK on the handset and install it using the hardware buttons.

What if the handset is not touch screen?

Use the handset hardware buttons to move through the screen, open the APK, confirm installation prompts, and navigate the radio interface. CommandTalk supports button navigation for POC handsets.

Radio

Radio

How do users open the radio interface?

After signing in, users can open the radio page from the website. Linked handsets go straight into the radio flow after commissioning. Dispatch users can also load live PTT from the controller console.

Why can’t I hear audio in a channel?

First test the Echo Test channel. If echo works but channels do not, check that both users are in the same channel, microphone permission is allowed, and the radio API is connected. On desktop, also check the selected input and output devices in the browser.

Dispatch

Dispatch

Who can use the dispatch console?

The owner account always has dispatch access. Other users can be given dispatch access by the owner. Users without that permission can still use the normal web or handset radio interface.

Branding

Branding

How do I add my own logo and brand name?

Open the dispatch console and use the Branding section to upload a logo and set the brand name. That branding is then used on protected pages, the public branded page, and the handset shell when it loads.

How do I share my branded public page?

Open the dispatch console and set your public URL slug in the Public page section. Your branded homepage will then be available at commandtalkapp.com/your-slug for sharing with staff or customers.
